GearPacker is designed to be data-minimal. The app stores your data exclusively on your device. There is no user account, no cloud sync, and no data is transmitted to our servers.
3.1 Locally stored data. All content you create in GearPacker (packing lists, entries, photos, notes) is stored only on your device. We have no access to it.
3.2 Voice input. When you use voice input, speech recognition is provided by Apple. Depending on your device and settings, processing may happen on-device or on Apple's servers. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
3.3 Text recognition (OCR). Text recognition from photos is performed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. Images and recognized text are not transmitted.
3.4 No analytics or tracking. GearPacker does not use any analytics tools, advertising networks, or third-party crash reporting.
The app only requests the permissions needed for specific features (e.g., microphone for voice input, camera/photos for OCR). You can revoke these at any time in your device settings.
When you download or update the app, data is processed by Apple's App Store. Apple is the controller for that processing; please refer to Apple's privacy policy.
Under applicable data protection law (in particular the GDPR and the Swiss FADP), you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability. Since we do not store any personal data on our servers, these rights apply only to the data stored locally on your device — you can remove that data at any time through the app or by uninstalling it.
